Story
The story starts in a forest near the Riders village. The hero, Lilia, and Cheval, three young friends, come across a shining egg.
The three playfully imitate the Rite of Kinship, only to be surprised when it actually works!
The egg hatches, revealing a baby Rathalos, a flying wyvern known as "the King of the Skies," whom the trio names "Ratha" and returns to the village with.
Days later, the village is attacked by a monster infected with "the Black Blight," which they manage to drive away, but not before it destroys the town and leaves indelible scars on Cheval and Lilia's hearts.
